Deep and dark ruby colour. A swirl of the glass releases an explosion of fruit aromas, whilst retaining a fine, lifted elegance. On the nose, notes of pomegranate, redcurrant, blackberry and plum dominate and interplay with the more subtle floral notes of violet and wisteria and a hint of white pepper. On the palate it is velvety smooth, with enticing ripe fruit balancing the soft tannins and juicy acidity. This is a highly versatile wine that is light enough on its feet to be drinkable on its own, but with enough depth of fruit and flavour to match more substantial meat dishes.
